2021 has been a big year for music, utilizing the energy of the great changes we've all been through for the last year and a half. Live shows are coming back, and the soul of the music is more fierce than ever before. Syren Rivers and M:FX released Changes b/w Glitch on BLUS 45 in February. Fast forward eight months and the soul comes back around with the remix flex by young, Austrian producer DubApe and the duo, Alibi from Brazil.

DubApe is a quickly rising young talent, supported by the likes of London Elektricity, Levela, and Don Diablo, with recent releases on LUX Music – Did You Forget Last Summer EP (also featuring GNRA and MC Longman.),. You might also know DubApe from his dubstep selections on compilations, including Dubstep Selections, Vol 03 on LW Recordings, various EPs on Encrypted Audio as well as the Storm EP on Boka Recs.

Alibi is Level 2 and DJ Chap who are signed exclusilvely on V Recordings. Producing alongside some of the heaviest hitters in drum 'n bass, including Skepticz, Sl8r, Riya, DRS, Serum, L-Side, and DJ Andy – while releasing success after success on the likes of V, Liquid V, Chronic, Hospital, AudioPorn, Sun & Bass Spearhead Records, C.I.A Records, and now on Blu Saphir – as well as releasing their debut album in 2018, Said & Done.

A. CHANGES (ALIBI REMIX):
Coming strong right out of the gate, the boys from Brazil slam through with a gritty neuro build, before touching down with floor-rumbling subs and gritty synth bass. Spacey effects light up the backdrop, while Syren Rivers's heavenly voice is manipulated to perfection, as if in surround sound.

The tune comes to a halt momentarily. Don't be fooled. The gritty build slams through one more time – with Syren's voice once again echoing through. Deep attacks on the drums will send your feet into a planetary assault on the dance floor.

B. GLITCH (DUBAPE REMIX):
Uplifting drums, lush chords, keys, and deep bass accentuate this beautiful and singable number. Bringing bliss to the dance floor is what this tune is all about. The realness penetrating through Syren Rivers's words hits hard, while the build creeps and the bass drops just moments before a tease of the chorus. Well worth the wait though – with added feels once it fully lands. True mastery of musical craft through the young producer. The vocal trails off while absorbing the lush chords to the outro.

Another class piece from Break. The original was good when it hit. The Bad Company remix was next level and this one to me is a close race for best remix of this classic. This one to me has the most gnarly drop of all. Like his formula is to sneak up on you with the drop and he accomplishes that mission over and over and over again. I've been collecting Break & Silent Witness tracks when I started buying records over 20 years ago. mrmonoxide
